2011 Awards

The following awards were graciously contributed by our 2011 Sponsors and will directly benefit deserving dancers in the form of special bursaries, scholarships & awards to be given out at the CoreDance Awards Gala.

SCHOLARSHIPS

“Scholarship Professional Dance Training and Education Program”

$750.00 Scholarship towards the “Scholarship” professional dance training and educational program at Drive Dance Centre.
Criteria: This award will go to a high school graduating student that would like to pursue a career in dance.
AWARDED TO: Chelsea Shaddelee, Gabe Richards

“ARC Dance Company”

$500.00 tuition will be paid in full by ARC Dance Company for two deserving young dancers to be able to join the company‘s 2011/2012 season without auditioning!
Criteria: Must show a passion for dance on the stage and be between the ages of 11-18 years.

“Drive Dance Centre”

4 Full Ride scholarships will be given away to Drive Dance Centre’s Summer Intensive Programs.
Criteria: One scholarship will go to a youth between the ages of 9-11 years, two to students aged 12-15 years and one to a student 16+ years. The adjudicators will be looking for young dancers who not only push themselves to excel technically but also appear to be focusing on expanding their movement stylistically.

“Kirkwood Academy of Performing Arts”

1 full ride scholarship to Kirkwood Academy’s summer school.
Criteria: This scholarship will be awarded to a student who excels in the classical division of the competition.
AWARDED TO: Kelly Mathews

“Vibrant Dance Studio”

$100 credit towards any of Vibe’s workshops or summer camps.
Criteria: This scholarship will be awarded to a student who excels in the urban division of the competition.
AWARDED TO: Alexandra Fontaine

“Groove Street Productions”

1 full ride scholarship to Groove Street or Street Groove Convention.
Criteria: This scholarship will be awarded to a dancer who demonstrates obvious talent and a positive attitude.
AWARDED TO: Brendon Young

“Richmond Academy of Dance”

1 full ride 3-week ballet and musical theater summer school scholarship.
Criteria: This scholarship will be awarded to a dancer that demonstrates a high level of performance skills and stage presence.
AWARDED TO: Sierra Brewerton

“Hollywood Summer Tour”

5 partial scholarships of $500 each towards the Hollywood Summer Tour.
Criteria: A dancer aged 16+ who demonstrates advanced skills in Jazz, Contemporary or Hip Hop.
AWARDED TO: Athena Ether, Rachel, Kianna Smith, Cypress, Voula Rounis, Francis Ricahrd,
Sahara Ali , Anwar Ali, Justine Gregg, Soliel Lewis-Willie

“Dance Pro Convention”

1 full pass to the Dance Pro Convention.
Criteria: This award will go to a passionate teacher who inspires and motivates their students.
AWARDED TO: Kiera Shaw

TOP TEN HIGH SCORES

Top Ten scores are presented to those who’ve received the highest marks in the entire competition. They will be awarded a glass CoreDance plaque, money, and a framed Techno Monkey photo of the dance.

ADJUDICATORS CHOICE

Each session, our adjudicators will award two Adjudicators Choice awards to dancers of their choosing. They will receive a CoreDance ribbon and a 5×7 photo of their choice from Techno Monkey.
