Awards & Standings

CoreDance is committed to creating an environment in which accomplishments are recognized while fostering a sense of healthy competition. As part of this commitment, we reward participants through a two-tiered award system.

Each dance is individually scored and awarded within the following percentage brackets:

Everyone receives a CoreDance button based on their standing, which can be picked up at the merchandise table after each adjudication. On top of that we give away a 1st 2nd and 3rd in each category to celebrate those who have been recognized by the judges.

Each session, our adjudicators will award one Adjudicator’s Choice award to a dancer of their choosing. Each individual award is completely unique as the adjudicators created them as inspired by the dancers. They can range from “Most expressive dancer” to “Competition’s best abs”. Dancers will receive a CoreDance ribbon and a media gift certificate from TMMDance.

At the end of each day, CoreDance will post the day’s top highest-scored solos and groups in the lobby and on our Facebook page. These results do not guarantee a spot in the Finals Showcase or reflect who will be receiving awards, but placing on the scoreboard is a wonderful achievement in itself and we want to recognize those who make it!

AWARDS are presented to the top-scoring solos and groups of each category of dance, as well as overall top 3 of solos and groups. They will be awarded a glass CoreDance plaque, cash prize, and a framed TMMDance photograph of the dance.

PRIZES given out at our Finals Showcase:

Our Triple Threat award will honour a soloist who has competed in three or more disciplines in the competition and whose top three solos add up to the highest combined score.

Adjudicators will watch the Finals Showcase and choose the top dance of the night. This dance will be given the overall Top Dance award. In addition to their Finals winnings, they will receive a trophy and CoreDance money.

Adjudicators will award Scholarships and Summer Intensives to deserving dancers. More details about the 2019 Scholarships and Summer intensives to come!
