AJ Swoboda is an accomplished dancer, choreographer, dance instructor. Her journey in dance has brought her from Winnipeg to Vancouver to LA and back to Vancouver.
She has trained her whole life in Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Modern, Musical Theatre and HipHop. She received countless awards and scholarships as a young dancer which led to extensive training at Debbie Reynolds, Millennium Dance and The Edge in Los Angeles. Her versatility as a dancer has allowed her to enjoy an exciting career as a performer. She has danced professionally in Canada, Europe, Asia and the United States. Throughout this experience, she had the privilege of working with choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Sean Cheesman, Paul Becker, Teresa Espinoza, Luther Brown, Tabitha, and Napoleon just to name a few.
In more recent years, AJ has decided to focus on cultivating the passion for dance in youth and young adults. She has built multiple Hip-Hop and Jazz programs for studios in the Lower Mainland. Her inspired students have participated in many competitions and as a result of her leadership and instruction; her choreography has received several awards and accolades at these events.
AJ has taught at several professional training programs and for corporate functions in Vancouver such as Team Canada West, West Coast Choreo Lab, Emerging Artists, Luminesque, and TD Canada Trust.
AJ is currently a member of one of Canada’s top freestyle Hip-Hop dance company Higher Ground. This company travels to compete and showcase their continued love of dance throughout Canada and the United States.
Her lifelong passion for dance and performing continues today through her choreography, instruction and performance. Her lifelong goal is to inspire people of all ages to be their best dancer and grow their passion for dance.
