Carla Catherwood


Carla Catherwood, creator and director of CMC Entertainment is one of Canada’s top rising choreographers and artistic directors. She not only has created her own production company but has also produced 15 sell out entertainment events and choreographed three full production shows for the “Burlesque Beauties” in the last 5 years. Carla is driven by creativity and passion through dance, the stage, and theatre. Through that passion she created the very successful cabaret dance group the “Burlesque Beauties”.

This woman wears many different hats. Being owner and director of the production company CMC Entertainment and the producer of the successful live entertainment showcases “For the Luv of It!” She also was inspired to create, direct, and choreograph a classy and sophisticated throwback on old Hollywood cabaret by starting up the dance group the “Burlesque Beauties” Carla is driven by creativity and passion through the visual arts, dance and stage direction. From that style of dancing “Nuvo-Burlesque” was then born. Nuvo-Burlesque is all about being Classy, Confident and Yourself.

Carla has many credits already under her belt such as the number one hit music video from Mariana’s Trench’s “Shake Tramp”, Jessie Farrell’s chart topping “Lets Talk About Love”, Cory Lee’s “Goodbye” and “Naughty”, and Thornley’s “Come Again”. Her TV/Film credits include Instant Star “The Flame” and the TV pilot “And Then There Was Simkin”, also assisting L.A. choreographer Nito Larioza in the feature films Catwoman and X-Men 3.

Carla’s stage choreography extends in many different directions from being the movement coach for Jessie Farrell and her bands many national tours “Let’s talk about love” to Cory Lee’s hard hitting sensual dance driven Western Canadian tours opening for Ne-Yo, 112, and Swollen Members for the two albums “What a difference a day makes” and “Sinful Innocence” along with the production show’s for the Burlesque Beauties, “A Night of Burlesque”, “Split Personalities” and “With Love…” and the “Chick-A-Boom Room” which has been featured at the Calgary Stampede, Edgewater Casino (Vancouver, B.C) and the Playboy Mansion in L.A.

She has also had the pleasure to choreograph corporate events for “Grey Goose Vodka”, “Heineken”, “Film Noir Festival”, “Ed Hardy”, “Playboy Jeans”, “Calgary Stampede”, “Lux PR”, “The Juno After Party with Russell Peters”, “River Rock Casino”, and the “Playboy Mansion”.

Carla not only is a chorographer but a well-respected dancer as well. Her dance, TV/Film and theatre credits include, Catwoman, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, The Goodbye Girl, Life as we know it, Instant Star, Celebrity Cruise Lines, River Rock Casino, EA Sports playing the role of “Storm” in the Marvel Superhero and “Need for speed Underground” video games. Carla has also had the pleasure to dance for recording artists such as Mariana’s Trench, Soul Decision, Cory Lee, Shania Twain and Micheal Bublé.
