An extensive background in the dance and performing arts industry, alongside a continuous desire to create, is the driving force behind Jeff Dimitriou as a Choreographer. As Associate Choreographer on the hit TV show: So You Think You Can Dance Canada!, upcoming Warner Bros. Feature Film: SuckerPunch!, Starring Vanessa Hudgens, Jena Malone, Carla Gugino, Abbie Cornish, Oscar Isaac and Jamie Chung, and upcoming Warner Bros TV show “Hellcats”, starring Ashley Tisdale, Jeff’s unique style and impressive resume have led him to be in constant demand as a choreographer, teacher and performer across North America, Asia, and Europe.
Backtrack over a decade, Jeff’s training began in Toronto, and quickly expanded through intensive studies in New York and Los Angeles. Fostering a natural gift of the creative nature, Jeff’s experience ranges from musicals to the big screen and local artists to international tours.
Jeff’s extensive credit list includes: High School Musical, The Producers, Houdini (North American Premiere), Chess (Canadian Premiere), Beauty and the Beast (Toronto Cast), Evita, Candide, A Chorus Line, Little Shop of Horrors, Fiddler on the Roof, West Side Story, White Christmas, Anne of Green Gables (Canadian Tour) as well as major stage shows for: Norwegian Cruise Lines, Tokyo Disney, Tokyo Disney Sea, Canada’s Wonderland, Sony Music Groove Tour (Western Canada), The B.C. Lions Cheerleaders, Showstoppers, Candy Girl Cabaret and Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance (Vancouver), to name a few. His most recent choreographic stage show was Cabaret at Theatre Sheridan, garnering Dimitrou prominent reviews – “This production, like all the super Sheridan efforts, is fast-paced and energetic. All while storing his creative edge with live on-stage performances, Jeff’s unique ability to incorporate choreographic and creative edge into live artists has seen the likes of: Jon Secada, Nelly Furtado, Boomtang Boys, Alanis Morissette, M2M, Front to Back, Love Willows, Juno-Award winner Camille, and most recently for huge Asian sensation Sally Yeh in her “Now’s My Prime” Asian Concert Tour. Film and television credits include: The Cleaner, with Cedric the Entertainer and Lucy Liu, The Music Man, starring Matthew Broderick and Kristen Chenoweth, and most recently Battlestar Gallactica, and Stargate Atlantis.
Jeff’s years spent vigilantly refining his craft, has opened opportunities such as offering master classes at: Broadway Dance Centre (Tokyo), Randolph Dance Theatre (Toronto), National Dance Canada (Toronto), Rico Choi Dance Centre (Hong Kong), Harbour Dance Centre (Vancouver), and Metro Movement (Toronto). He continues to teach workshops and choreograph worldwide, most recently in Singapore at Studio Wu, in Mexico for Duboforce, for Dance Nova Scotia, Manitoba Arts Council and Dance Saskatchewan. He is also on faculty at the highly respected Sheridan College (Oakville).
