Michelle Henly

Michelle has a wealth of teaching experience in Europe, the Middle East, and right here in British Columbia. Internationally, she directed the dance faculty at Watford Technical College in London, England, teaching GCSE, AS and A level dance. In the Middle East she was director of the British Academy of International Arts working with international students teaching dance as well as collaborating with One World Actors Studio for musical theatre performances. After returning to Canada she became co-owner and Director of Ballet at Triple Heat Dance – Academy of Performing Arts. Michelle has been choreographing and adjudicating for the past 10 years.

Michelle has extensive training in both classical ballet and musical theatre. At ten years old, Michelle went to the National Ballet School of Canada. Later, she attended the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. Following her graduation, Michelle moved to Toronto, Ontario to further her education. She studied Musical Theatre at the Randolph Academy of Performing Arts and Acting for film and stage at the Equity Showcase Theatre. She is a Royal Academy of Dance (RAD-RTS) certified Ballet teacher as well as holds a BFA and B.Ed from the University of British Columbia.

Through her teaching of Ballet, Musical Theatre, Jazz and Modern, Michelle passionately seeks to build a strong technical foundation in dancers as well as inspire a love for movement. She wishes all the best to each performer and looks forward to seeing their bright energy on the stage!
