Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, Portia Favro is a social media specialist and broadcast journalist by day and professional dancer, choreographer, teacher and emcee by night. She holds a Bachelor of Journalism with a specialization in broadcast and online reporting from Ryerson University in Toronto.
She has trained, performed and taught extensively throughout the west coast of the U.S. and Canada. In 2013, Portia placed second in Top Dancer Competition’s event, Vancouver’s Next Bombshell, during her first live performance in the city.
Portia has performed with the ARMY of SASS Performance & Training Group, High Society Cabaret, The Canadian Olympic Committee, DivaGirl Inc., Nuvo Burlesque, Moving Arts Dance, LR Productions, City of Kelowna, Jarvis Church and The Lovers Cabaret and many more.
Over the last few years, Portia has started to flex her choreographic muscles, and is often sought to work on competition pieces and lead workshops across Canada. She is a regular performer at The Chic-a-Boom Room, guest teaches for the Army of Sass Vancouver, and was a choreographer for the The Lover’s Cabaret first show of 2014, The Lovers of Marley.
When she’s not dancing, she manages her own company, Portia Favro Productions, working coaching and working with arts and entertainment groups on their social media presence.
