Tamara Thompson Levi

Tamara is a sought after dance choreographer & educator. Through her expertise and dedication she has earned a personal & professional reputation of high esteem among peers, students and colleagues nationwide working in film, TV, theatre and with companies that include New Balance, Calvin Klein, The Bay, Charlottetown Festival, Alberta Ballet, Festival Cruise Line and The Canadian Teachers Dance Association.

As an instructor, Tamara’s approach combines over 15 years of experience as an educator, professional performer, choreographer, and fitness expert. Through an assortment of unique exercises and activities that incorporate body, mind and spirit, Tamara leads participants on a journey of development and discovery through the medium of dance. Placing emphasis on the “fun factor”, Tamara’s classes focus on the body as an instrument for expression, communication, exploration and creativity in a structured and supportive atmosphere.

Her training began at age 3 after trying on a pair of tap shoes in her hometown of Edmonton, Canada. She has continued to train in New York, LA, Toronto & Vancouver building a dance repertoire that includes a wide range of genres from ballet to jazz, contemporary, tap, theatre & a variety of ethnic styles. She has recently returned from Israel where she trained in GAGA, the movement language developed by Ohad Naharin, Artistic Director of the Batsheva Dance Company.

Based in Vancouver, Tamara runs All That Jazz Enterprises Inc. producing educational dance events and corporate entertainment. Tamara loves sharing her passion for dance and is always seeking new opportunities to expand her horizons and fulfill her love for travel, people, and community through her work.
