The Adjudicators Workshop gives the competitors an edge by having the opportunity to take a class from their Adjudicators before performing for them. This year we will offer 2 classes, one with each adjudicator. One style will be an urban style like Hip Hop and the other will be focused around a classical/contemporary style like Jazz.

This will be the dancers’ opportunity to ask any questions about the style of dance they are competing in, or what the adjudicators look for in a performer. Adjudicators will give tips on what they like to see in different categories plus their unique outlook on dance and the industry.

The workshop will have open registration until each level is full – pre-register for a guaranteed spot! Unfilled spots may be available the morning of the workshop, but no openings are guaranteed. Take this opportunity to learn from CoreDance’s elite faculty by making sure to register early!

This year the workshop will have more levels, and will be held in downtown Nanaimo.

3:30-5:00pm: Level 1 – Classical Contemporary/Jazz with Joey Bothwell
3:30-5:00pm: Level 2 – Urban Hip Hop/Street Jazz with Harj Rai
5:00-6:30pm Level 2 – Classical Contemporary/Jazz with Joey Bothwell
5:00-6:30pm Level 1 – Urban Hip Hop/Street Jazz with Harj Rai
6:30-8:00pm Level 3 – Classical Contemporary/Jazz with Joey Bothwell
8:00-9:30pm Level 3 – Urban Hip Hop/Street Jazz with Harj Rai

Guideline of Levels:

Level 1 – 6-8 years old: Single pirouette, jetés
Level 2 – 9-12 years old: Double pirouette, side jetés
Level 3 – 12+: Triple pirouette, switch splits
